Most Canadians keep an eye on the real estate market – and so most of you are aware that it is currently a seller’s market. The inventory in the Barrie area is at an all time low and buyers are fighting over the available listings. We are seeing a lot of Toronto tactics making their way up to Barrie. Listing agents are holding off on presenting offers for a few days to ensure their client’s listing is getting proper exposure and producing multiple offers. While this is great news for sellers – it can be extremely frustrating for buyers who do not want to compete and end up overpaying. Buyers need to be ready to view homes as soon as they are listed and try to make their offer as competitive as possible, which doesn’t always mean a higher price. Knocking a few days off your conditions can also help strengthen your offer or try and get your inspector to view the home prior to offer presentation…so you can delete that condition from your offer. Most of all – have an agent on your side who is willing to take the time and personally present your offer to the sellers, in some instances, this can make all the difference!
I’ve got lots of buyers who are still looking to purchase a home in the Barrie and surrounding area…are you or someone you know looking to sell?
